Meet the Team
I ‘fell into’ care management a number of years ago after a long career in various forms of business management. My then employer, Gordon McClurg advertised for someone to run his own care team and also assist him with his care business. This was a turning point both in my professional and personal life. Gordon, who sadly passed away in April 2016 led me into a career in care management – a career I’d never considered, but now couldn’t imagine doing anything other!
After setting up a homecare division from scratch for a previous company, I was then thrust into developing the Care service for Nurtured Care. Thanks to a magnificent team of people who believed in what Nurtured Care could do, we have gone from strength to strength. I am very proud to be part of an organisation whose passion for providing care and support to people who need it – always striving to meet the needs of our clients and patients and over-deliver on our mantra. ”Care With Compassion” Very much a ‘Family’ business, the Nurtured Care Family are committed to serving those who entrust themselves and their loved ones to our care.
My passion for care was nurtured when I helped looked after my mother Margaret and father Jacky in their latter years. I saw first hand the difference in morale and general well-being quality care could achieve.The human spirit is an amazing thing and never flags if nurtured. Hence I came up with this name for our company. I was able to bring my many years of compliance and quality control standards background to the role of developing the business. I’m very proud to see all the young people we employ grow and develop their careers in a caring compassionate company and enjoy every day.
HR and Admin Manager
Christine is our HR and Admin Manager and coordinates both our recruitment strategies and staff remuneration policies. From a very early age Christine had a passion for numbers and being our Social Media guru , the role she holds plays exactly to her strengths. Christine coordinates Nurtured Care’s social media activities across several platforms whilst keeping an eye on our ever expanding staffing requirements . Nurtured Care are very proud to have a quality manager in Christine and her many talents.
Claire heads up the Operation Team. Liaising with our partner organisations including CHC, CQC and Newcastle /Gateshead City Council . Key relationship building is her forte. Claire has a passion for detail, professionalism and delivery. Claire has many skill sets but amazing people skills, a passion for care. Claire brings her vast experience in education, business and care to the role
Nurtured Care's Training Manager
Troy heads up Nurtured Care’s training division. Troy is also responsible for the long-term training strategy of Nurtured Care. Troy believes that the very best training staff can receive will be rewarded in amazing care delivery and all important client satisfaction feedback. As well as delivering a full suite of mandatory training, Troy coordinates specialist partners to deliver complex care external training such as Peg Feeding, Tracheostomy and various specialist mental health conditions. Troy also liaises with the Clinical Learning Centres at Royal Victoria Hospital Newcastle and QE Gateshead.
